Ko Samet

Well, we ditched Pattaya and we went to a really cool island called Ko Samet. We got in a Song-tao (I have no idea how to spell that)... it's kinda like a truck with two bench seats in the back that are facing each other... and asked them to take us back to the bus station. We told them we were going to take a bus to Rayong... so, we start heading towards the bus station... and then we passed the bus station... we got the driver's attention and told him again that we wanted to go to the bus station... and he said: "bus! yes!"... and we kept on driving... so, like many situations we've been in while living in asia... we just sat back and went along for the ride and decided to just wait and see what would happen... well, after a couple more minutes, the song-tao driver started motioning to a bus driving by us and got the bus to stop. The bus stopped and our driver said that that was our bus to go to Rayong!! It was really funny, we had to give them our bags and jump on the bus :) It was funny! At the end of the bus ride, we were dropped off in Rayong and made it to the port where we got on a boat. (I made it sound like that was an easy task, but it was quite an adventure also... to get on the boat, we had to climb across 3 other boats... it was funny!) The boat ride was pretty bouncy and wet (we rode in boats like the ones in the middle of the pic above)... but we arrived in Ko Samet! We didn't have a place to stay, so we got in a Song-tao and drove around for a while until we were tired of driving and stopped at the next place - which was totally cool and perfect!!We were on a small private beach area - it rocked! There were three places to stay on that beach area and there were about 6 people staying on it. It was really cool! We stayed on our own little cottage right on the beach!! It was so cool! (you can see a pic of it below)...We had fun just chillin' at the beach and relaxing... it ROCKED! We did get a little sunburned though... we used some Thai sunscreen that was supposed to be waterproof, but I'm not sure that it was....
You ever wonder where your old computer monitor went at the end of the 80's?? Well, aparently it retired here in Ko Samet... (see pic below) :) This totally cracked me up! It was just sitting there :)

Well, we got back yesterday and we're just starting to get back into the swing of things... and it's HOT :) Our AC isn't working well again... yikes!! Hopefully it will be OK....

Campa Cola & Exploring :)

Today we had some things to do in the Central part of our city, so while we were there, we decided to take on some adventures :) Adventure #1 - the underground market. This market is pretty crazy. It's actually underground and has electronics & clothes mostly. They sell things pretty cheap, so it's an interesting place to go. Today we got an 64 Gig flash drive/pen drive for about $5. Crazy hunh? Here's Adam and Aashini in one of the stores. They're all REALLY small stores - about 10x10 feet I would guess (but I'm really bad at guessing that sort of stuff :)) We go here a lot to get things, so I guess it's not a new adventure, but an adventure nonetheless. Before the next part of our adventure (the real part of our adventure) we stopped for lunch. Aashini will always eat at McDonalds, so that's where we went :) They just started selling chicken nuggets here at McDonalds, so it's super easy to get her to eat there :) This McDonald's had high chair

Starbucks!

Starbucks opened in our city last night!!  I'm not a huge coffee drinker... but I was excited about the opening!!  (I think I like Starbucks because of all the green! haha!... Aashini and Diya think the mermaid on the logo looks like me... haha! Maybe it's the weird wavy hair :)... not sure :) ) Anyway, we got there and the line was SUPER long!  The wait time was about 45 minutes!!!  There were so many people there!!!  I tried to get a pic of all the people... (that's why this picture is at an annoying angle... I was trying to get it all in in between the columns :))    Here's Aashini doing a jumping picture!!  The girls tried to do a jumping picture :) haha!  haha!  They had a few spills along the way :)  I never got them both jumping :)  Stuff for sale....  OK, one more because I think they are cute :) haha!  People waiting in line :) Some friends that made it inside! :)  We decided not to wait in line... So we'll

Funny Things - Age Appropriate?
