Old City Fun :)

Today Emily & I headed over to the old part of the city. We needed to do a few things, and Emily needed a new Sari. Saris are much cheaper in the old part of the city and it's fun!We went to the Sari market...
This is the Sari that Emily got. The sales guy tried it on for her to show her how it would look! haha! In the other stores, they let her try it on, but this guy thought he should try it on for her :) haha!!
We were looking at some saris in boxes and we found a brand of saris that was pretty funny - see if you can see it... :)
This guy (below) was selling bras and underwear - does he look like someone you'd want to buy that stuff from? :) haha!
These guys crack me up. You can find them all over the old part of the city. They wear red hats. Their job.... EAR CLEANERS!! They come up to everyone and ask if they can clean out your ears :) haha! They usually have a long metal rod, and a rag. They dig around with the metal rod and then wipe the stuff off on their rag...
Here's a close-up... this guy was using the metal rod and tweezers... not sure exactly the method he was using ;)
I love the old part of our city :)

I just can't understand why you wouldn't want an old indian man to clean out your ears on the side of the road! Sounds like fun times to me!! :)

The Old Parts of every city are my favorite!

You always take great pictures.

And I'll take a sari that is Only Okay- wouldn't want it to be Pretty Good or Very Nice or anything.
Woohoo Old City!! Can't wait to see the sari on Emily. So was your day out Aashini-Hazel-less? Were daddy's on diaper duty? If we ever get to visit you there, you'll definitely have to take us there (we won't clean our ears for a month just to make it extra special!...haha!! eww!)

haha Kelley and Sharon! Y'all are funny. Yes we were Aash-Hazel-less. They probably would have loved the sites, but I'm sure the Mommys would've worried the whole time!

I love the Old City! I love what you said about how it makes you appreciate the country. It's pretty darn enchanting in its own way!

Wow- that's crazy, the ear thing, that is!
I love all the sari's in those pics- what awesome colors! Looks like you had a blast! Sometimes it's just nice to get out without all the baby gear huh?

I like that you know people who "need a new sari!" I don't think I know anyone who could honestly say that!

Yes, I would like the "only okay" sari! Ha! Eww, someone cleans ears of strangers for a living - that's a little too up close and personal for me. Then again that old guy is selling bras and underwear!
LOVE the picture of the man selling the bras. too funny. he's not exactly Victoria's Secret...

"I'll take the Only Okay sari please. I've already got two Really Good ones anyways."

Campa Cola & Exploring :)

Today we had some things to do in the Central part of our city, so while we were there, we decided to take on some adventures :) Adventure #1 - the underground market. This market is pretty crazy. It's actually underground and has electronics & clothes mostly. They sell things pretty cheap, so it's an interesting place to go. Today we got an 64 Gig flash drive/pen drive for about $5. Crazy hunh? Here's Adam and Aashini in one of the stores. They're all REALLY small stores - about 10x10 feet I would guess (but I'm really bad at guessing that sort of stuff :)) We go here a lot to get things, so I guess it's not a new adventure, but an adventure nonetheless. Before the next part of our adventure (the real part of our adventure) we stopped for lunch. Aashini will always eat at McDonalds, so that's where we went :) They just started selling chicken nuggets here at McDonalds, so it's super easy to get her to eat there :) This McDonald's had high chair

Starbucks!

Starbucks opened in our city last night!!  I'm not a huge coffee drinker... but I was excited about the opening!!  (I think I like Starbucks because of all the green! haha!... Aashini and Diya think the mermaid on the logo looks like me... haha! Maybe it's the weird wavy hair :)... not sure :) ) Anyway, we got there and the line was SUPER long!  The wait time was about 45 minutes!!!  There were so many people there!!!  I tried to get a pic of all the people... (that's why this picture is at an annoying angle... I was trying to get it all in in between the columns :))    Here's Aashini doing a jumping picture!!  The girls tried to do a jumping picture :) haha!  haha!  They had a few spills along the way :)  I never got them both jumping :)  Stuff for sale....  OK, one more because I think they are cute :) haha!  People waiting in line :) Some friends that made it inside! :)  We decided not to wait in line... So we'll

Funny Things - Age Appropriate?

Just wondering... but who thought that putting a HUGE Super scary picture right over the playground was a good idea??  hahahaha!!!  My kids were terrified! :) haha!
