Our Wall...

Our poor wall... We had some water damage... You see, houses here in our part of South Asia are built very close together, and most houses even have walls that touch the house next to them. Our house is like that. Everything was fine... until our next door neighbors tore their house down to build a new one... Well, when they did that, they exposed the bricks in our wall... You see, most houses here are made of bricks, concrete and a little plaster... there isn't insulation or vinyl siding or drywall or anything like that, so if the outside of the wall gets wet, the inside of your house gets wet :)
So, our wall had gotten pretty bad, so our landlord said he would fix it... The worker guys came over yesterday to fix it....
Here is our wall Before/During the "fixing".... And here it is AFTER.... Yes, I said after....
Looks much better doesn't it??
Apparently there was more damage than they thought, so after they had been working all day, the wall just fell off! haha! They're supposed to come back today and really fix it...
I sure hope so! haha!

Wow! Sorry to see the mess they are making! I hope they come fix it for real. Did the neighbors finish rebuilding their new place?

Wow! That really stinks. You know, ya'll have had all kinds of problems...walls falling, rats in the toilet. (And by the way, I thought the ginormous roaches in New Orleans were bad...but that story really made me laugh....I'm sure you weren't laughing though ;)

just look at it as some "modern art," minus the smell. :) Getting my wall fixed here was probably one of the most frustrating things I have had to do.

you amaze me with how you approach these stresses with HUMOR every time. you find a way to always be joyful. I know this post is a simple one about a wall, but today it reminded me that I can learn something from you.

So... thanks! And I hope your wall feels better soon.

WOW! You handle it so well - I guess the fact that you don't own the place helps a bit as well. And I have to say that's a pretty cool ladder they have there!

Oh man! Definitely a South Asia day, huh? At least they were honest and wanted to fix it correctly instead of just painting over it! Hopefully it gets done MUCH faster than we'd expect!

Campa Cola & Exploring :)

Today we had some things to do in the Central part of our city, so while we were there, we decided to take on some adventures :) Adventure #1 - the underground market. This market is pretty crazy. It's actually underground and has electronics & clothes mostly. They sell things pretty cheap, so it's an interesting place to go. Today we got an 64 Gig flash drive/pen drive for about $5. Crazy hunh? Here's Adam and Aashini in one of the stores. They're all REALLY small stores - about 10x10 feet I would guess (but I'm really bad at guessing that sort of stuff :)) We go here a lot to get things, so I guess it's not a new adventure, but an adventure nonetheless. Before the next part of our adventure (the real part of our adventure) we stopped for lunch. Aashini will always eat at McDonalds, so that's where we went :) They just started selling chicken nuggets here at McDonalds, so it's super easy to get her to eat there :) This McDonald's had high chair

Starbucks!

Starbucks opened in our city last night!!  I'm not a huge coffee drinker... but I was excited about the opening!!  (I think I like Starbucks because of all the green! haha!... Aashini and Diya think the mermaid on the logo looks like me... haha! Maybe it's the weird wavy hair :)... not sure :) ) Anyway, we got there and the line was SUPER long!  The wait time was about 45 minutes!!!  There were so many people there!!!  I tried to get a pic of all the people... (that's why this picture is at an annoying angle... I was trying to get it all in in between the columns :))    Here's Aashini doing a jumping picture!!  The girls tried to do a jumping picture :) haha!  haha!  They had a few spills along the way :)  I never got them both jumping :)  Stuff for sale....  OK, one more because I think they are cute :) haha!  People waiting in line :) Some friends that made it inside! :)  We decided not to wait in line... So we'll
