Elephants Again! (and a poll)

Hey! Today was had some fun elephants visit our house :) These guys come around and ask for money or food for them and their elephant... We came out and fed the elephant a banana and Adam got to get on him and ride down the street for $1 :) It was fun :)

Adam loved it :) It made his day :)

OK, I added a poll to the left side of my blog... (our super cool friend tim gave us the idea)... so the other day I went to the glasses store and was trying to ask if they made perscription sunglasses... there's no Hindi for that (that we've been able to figure out) but there are specific English words you have to use in order to get the correct answer... when I asked if they had perscription sunglasses, he said no... we finally figured out the right thing to say and he said yes... check out the poll to see what you think was the right answer :) ROckon!!

Apparently K has already voted, but I would choose "mirrors with degrees." It sounds stupid enough, yet semi-logical enough, to be the right thing in India.

Funny Things 2 - American Fair Edition

We just got back from Roadtrip #8 in Macon, GA. It was an awesome trip!! So, before we head out on the next trip, we went to the North Florida Fair! The fair is always famous for it's fried foods... they fried everything!!... They had fried/breaded zucchini, Mushrooms, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Onions, green tomatoes, okra, pickles, etc :) I had a lot of it too - YUM! Now, I'd heard of fried Snickers & twinkies (which they had) but they also had FRIED OREOS & PEANUTBUTTER CUPS :) The fair was cool. They had a shark show and a sea lion show... but our favorite was the pig races :) haha!!! It was hilarious!! Aashini was close up to the race until the pigs came - then she crawled up into Adam's lap really fast :) (as seen below) :) Pig races! haha! Cracks me up!

Protesting

There's some political stuff going on in our city (and now the country) right now. People are peacefully fighting against corruption. It's been very interesting to follow. Tonight there was some protesting in our neighborhood. Here are some more protesting pictures. There will probably be more protesting to come... we'll see what happens!

Cooking!

Cooking is sooo much harder here. THis is how you "puree" vegetables when you don't have a blender or food processor (or power). Some people have those things, but most people don't. This is my friend Gita. She's mashing up some onions. It's a marble slab that's not polished and they use a big rounded rock and just roll/mash! It's cool!!
