Last Few Days in CM

So tomorrow is our last day in Chiang Mai and weve been having a lot of fun :) It's been great to see old friends and meet new friends - it's been awesome! Aashini is such a people person and has loved meeting so many people :)
We got to see our friend's Jacob & Sara, their daughter and their new little baby girl :)
Aashini made a lot of new friends... Here's a pic (below) of Aashini with two of her teachers :) She loved them :)
Aashini had fun with Brooke and really loved her shoes! She seems to gravitate towards pink things - haha!
About a year and a half ago, when Adam and I were walking through the night market in Chiang Mai and spotted Nigel Lythgoe... (if you want to see the post then click: Nigel Lythgoe Spotting)... Then, on this trip we got to meet Tim Tebow (see post below)... and tonight in the night market, we spotted Henry Rollins and Adam took his picture with him... I didn't recognize him and didn't know who he was at first and I actually told Adam to stay away from him because he seemed creepy (which he was) ... so we took a pic and he moved on - haha! I guess famous people like Chaing Mai :)

haha That's funny!! I don't know who he is either...I had to go to the link you provided, and still nothing is ringing a bell. Adam is a pop culture whiz...Nigel Lithgow, Habeeb, now this. :)
Speaking of Nigel, I've watched SYTYCD...I love it!!

I've never even met ONE famous person and you guys have met tons! so jealous! (well, not about henry rollins, if I'm honest... but the other two are cool.)
Your stroller does look like our old one. I hope it lasts longer! Did you buy it in Thailand?

Actually, I think famous people like you guys...we have lived in Chiang Mai for over two years and have never seen a famous person here! We always hear rumors about various celebrities being in town, and we never seem to be in the right place at the right time to catch them. You two have excellent timing! Glad you guys had a great trip--wish we could have seen you this time!

Yeah for a picture of Debbie C...we love them! I like that I recognize a lot of people and places in your recent posts!! And by the way,, I think you have just the CUTEST little girl!!

Funny Things 2 - American Fair Edition

We just got back from Roadtrip #8 in Macon, GA. It was an awesome trip!! So, before we head out on the next trip, we went to the North Florida Fair! The fair is always famous for it's fried foods... they fried everything!!... They had fried/breaded zucchini, Mushrooms, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Onions, green tomatoes, okra, pickles, etc :) I had a lot of it too - YUM! Now, I'd heard of fried Snickers & twinkies (which they had) but they also had FRIED OREOS & PEANUTBUTTER CUPS :) The fair was cool. They had a shark show and a sea lion show... but our favorite was the pig races :) haha!!! It was hilarious!! Aashini was close up to the race until the pigs came - then she crawled up into Adam's lap really fast :) (as seen below) :) Pig races! haha! Cracks me up!

Cooking!

Cooking is sooo much harder here. THis is how you "puree" vegetables when you don't have a blender or food processor (or power). Some people have those things, but most people don't. This is my friend Gita. She's mashing up some onions. It's a marble slab that's not polished and they use a big rounded rock and just roll/mash! It's cool!!

Protesting

There's some political stuff going on in our city (and now the country) right now. People are peacefully fighting against corruption. It's been very interesting to follow. Tonight there was some protesting in our neighborhood. Here are some more protesting pictures. There will probably be more protesting to come... we'll see what happens!
