Traffic Fun :)

Traffic here can be so frustrating at times. People drive everywhere (and sometimes on both sides of the road) so traffic jams happen a lot! The other day one of the intersections' traffic lights were out. This caused some serious problems with the traffic. After a bit of craziness, a man with a stick came out and decided to direct the traffic.
The whole time he was directing traffic I kept wondering how people in America would react to something like that. This guy was really good at directing traffic. Everyone listened to him too... it could be because he had a big stick... but either way he was very helpful :)
One of those random funny South Asia things :) I thought it was awesome and he really got the traffic moving :)

Andrea- I LOVE this post. We have these guys here too...we refer to him as "that guy" who directs traffic. For the LONGEST time I have been trying to get a picture of "that guy" to do a post about it and haven't been able to. SO glad you got great pictures and were able to share about this South Asian thing. It makes me laugh everytime and I don't know who "that guy" is, where "that guy" comes from or why "that guy" has the authority or takes the authority but usually I am happy he does it so that the traffic will start moving again. SO FUNNY!

South Asia is so fun. :) It happens so much, maybe they have to learn how to direct traffic to drive. :) haha

Comic Con 2013

Comic Con 2013 just ended.  It was a fun one this year.  This was the 3rd Annual Comic Con here.  We've been to it all 3 years.  It's getting bigger each year!  I think they grew out of their venue this year...it was soooo crowded!  Here's me imitating "Superkudi" :)  Aashini and me :)  For the Love of Comics...  Some guys that were dressed up... the guy on the left isn't in his full attire... He won the CosPlay contest that day... he won a trip to Dubai to their Comic Con!!  This was my favorite costume of the day... Nyan Cat :)  There were lots of people there!  Me and the girls on the 2nd day :)  I had to have at least one jumping picture :) Our friend Ford made a video of the first day... check it out!

Cooking!

Cooking is sooo much harder here. THis is how you "puree" vegetables when you don't have a blender or food processor (or power). Some people have those things, but most people don't. This is my friend Gita. She's mashing up some onions. It's a marble slab that's not polished and they use a big rounded rock and just roll/mash! It's cool!!

MasterChef Australia!!!

MasterChef Australia is a great show!  When it's on, we get it 5 days a week.  There are TONS of episodes.  The thing that makes it really cool is that the judges and contestants are all so nice!  The contestants don't stab each other in the back and they even help each other!   Anyway, the other night (a couple of weeks ago) some friends of ours were in town and wanted to go to Chili's, so we went over to the mall to eat :)  When we got there we saw that the bookstore had the Judges (and very famous chefs/restaurant owners) inside signing cookbooks!    When we got inside, they had just closed off the line, so we weren't allowed to go through the line and get them to sign a cookbook or get a pic with them :(    So... we stood as close as we could and took pics :) haha!  (and I didn't have my camera, only my phone to take pics)... Here's Gary...    Here's George with my friend Amy :)  And my at...
