While on our vacation, we were waiting at an airport in Kuala Lumpur to go back to Bangkok. I met this really nice Chinese woman and we had quite an interesting conversation. She's Chinese but was born in raised in KL, Malaysia (there's a HUGE Chinese population in Malaysia). Anyway, we talked for a while. I asked her where she was going and she said: Brunei. I've always been very interested in that country. I don't know tons about it, but it's really interesting. The country is run by a VERY rich man who is called the Sultan of Brunei. It's a very strict Musl'm country and it's pretty difficult for USofAers to get into it... Anyway, I asked her what she did... she said she was a cook... a little later, Adam asked if he could see what any of the money looked like (he loves to look at money from other countries)... she gave us this bill (below) and said: "See that man on there....he's my boss" ... ends up, she is one of 3 cooks for the Sult...

OK, so for the second half of our vacation we took a flight from Penang to Kuala Lumpur (KL). When we got to the airport we were met by our cool friends A&S! That was a fun surprise. They picked us up and we spent the day together. They showed us all around KL and took us to some really cool places :) Our friends took us to this cool m0sque called the Blue M0sque. It was really neat looking and very clean. I had fun taking pictures inside of it. That afternoon we went together to the awesome huge IKEA store. It was super HUGE - like 3 or 4 stories! We had fun running around and looking at things. We bought some cool ice trays that make the ice in cool shapes - one was in puzzle piece shapes :) We also bought a couple things for the baby :) and then we had some ice cream (yes, the IKEA store sold ice cream... but I think Wal-Mart does too, so I guess it's not that impressive, but it sure was nice!) Later that night A&S took us to a really cool Firefly colony! This was total...

This is the first half of our vacation. We went to Penang, Malaysia. It's on the Northwest coast of the Western half of Malaysia (does that sound confusing)... I don't know if you can see it on this map - it's kinda small, but you can maybe see where it says George Town... that's the city we first stayed in while in Panang. The pic below is of George Town. It's an old city that the British used to inhabit. As with pretty much all of Malaysia the population is made up of Malay people, Chinese, and Indian. It's really interesting to see all the cultures mixed together. They have cycle rickshaws that are different from the ones we had in M-town. They are called Tri-shaws and the driver sits on the back and pedals and the passenger is in the front... so we go head-first into on-coming traffic! haha! That was pretty fun! One night, our Tri-shaw driver had to go and make change at the 7-Eleven (I love those!!!) and so Adam hopped on the back of it for a picture :) I...

We're back from our Malaysian vacation! It was great! We're here in Bangkok for the next couple of days to chill before heading back to SouthAsiaLand :) I'll post pics soon :) Until then, here are a couple of pics from our trip :)
