In Chiang Mai!

We've made it here to Chiang Mai! Aashini had her first Tuk Tuk ride! Tuk Tuks are the Thailand version of a Rickshaw :) - but they're leaned back and super comfortable!!
Here she is in the Tuk Tuk again :) In the background you can see the red trucks - those are called Song-taows (i have no idea how to spell that) - she also had her first ride in one of those yesterday too :)
And another one just because it was funny :)
We also went to Tesco - it's like Wal-Mart... She had fun looking around at everything :)
Aashini got to hang out with her buddy Becka (Tony & Stephany's little girl) - they had fun and will be hanging out a lot this week ;)
Last night we got awesome foot massages ;) - it's great to get foot massages here because the ladies that aren't working will hold your baby - they are so great with kids, so it was great :)
I'll leave you with this one... enough said :)

We'll keep ya posted!!

I love Thailand! I can't wait to take Archie again, but I must confess I don't love the song-taows. They scare me! Everything else looks great! Rebekah and Aashini are cute together!

That last picture is so funny!! Caroline is right, she is such a ham. I love how happy she seems in the grocery cart.

Wishing we were there!!

Cooking!

Cooking is sooo much harder here. THis is how you "puree" vegetables when you don't have a blender or food processor (or power). Some people have those things, but most people don't. This is my friend Gita. She's mashing up some onions. It's a marble slab that's not polished and they use a big rounded rock and just roll/mash! It's cool!!

Protesting

There's some political stuff going on in our city (and now the country) right now. People are peacefully fighting against corruption. It's been very interesting to follow. Tonight there was some protesting in our neighborhood. Here are some more protesting pictures. There will probably be more protesting to come... we'll see what happens!

We're BACK! (with Rats!)

We made it back! The flights were so long (especially our 6 hour layover right off the bat) but we made it!! We flew from Tallahassee to Memphis (where the long layover was) and then Memphis to Detroit (see picture below). It was snowing in Detroit! The only snow we saw all the time in the states was at the airpots! haha! We left Detroit about an hour late because they had to De-ice the plane! I'm from the south so I had no idea that they did that... and that it would take so long! haha! We were an hour late coming into Amsterdam (where it was snowing too!) and had to rush to our gate (it was a blur of wooden shoes!)... When we got in the plane we had to wait about 1.5 hours while they de-iced that plane! So we got into the Captial at about 2:00 am!! When we got home we were welcomed to a rat infestation in our bathroom!!! EWWWW!!!! Aparently, if the toilet isn't flushed for a couple months and dries out, then rats can crawl UP the TOILET!!! yes... nice... They wrecked our ba...
