Fooseball Table via Bicycle 65+ miles!

We got our Fooseball Table! Whoo hoo!! We got a phone call the day before yesterday from the store in M-town. They said that they were dispatching our fooseball table at that time and it should reach us in about 4 hours! Then they said something about it coming by rickshaw... Rickshaw? Adam asked to be sure, and the guy said, yes, he will be coming from M-town to Delhi via Bicycle Rickshaw!! That's at least 65 miles!!!!!!!! For those of you that can't picture what this rickshaw looks like, see the pic below:

An old bicycle that has NO GEARS with a cart attached, used to manover through insane traffic on the road from M-town to the capital. Crazy!! Well, needless to say, it didn't take 4 hours... it takes us 3 hours to do that trip while in a car!! The guy left around 2:00pm and arrived at our house at 4:00am (14 hours later!!)!!! He was very nice though and waited until 6:30am to ring our doorbell...
This guy wasn't a young wipper-snapper either! He looked pretty old! I was definitely impressed with him! He helped us carry our boxed-up fooseball table upstairs, we gave him a nice tip and a bottle of water and he got back on his bicycle and pedaled away....

Our upstairs neighbors have a boy that's in 10th grade... he heard about our fooseball table coming up the stairs and he came in and helped Adam put it together (at 6:30am!)... Then they preceeded to play quite a few game before he had to go to school :)

Our house was definitely the party pad yesterday with our new fooseball table!! It's going to be fun :)

Cooking!

Cooking is sooo much harder here. THis is how you "puree" vegetables when you don't have a blender or food processor (or power). Some people have those things, but most people don't. This is my friend Gita. She's mashing up some onions. It's a marble slab that's not polished and they use a big rounded rock and just roll/mash! It's cool!!

Protesting

There's some political stuff going on in our city (and now the country) right now. People are peacefully fighting against corruption. It's been very interesting to follow. Tonight there was some protesting in our neighborhood. Here are some more protesting pictures. There will probably be more protesting to come... we'll see what happens!

Funny Things 2 - American Fair Edition

We just got back from Roadtrip #8 in Macon, GA. It was an awesome trip!! So, before we head out on the next trip, we went to the North Florida Fair! The fair is always famous for it's fried foods... they fried everything!!... They had fried/breaded zucchini, Mushrooms, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Onions, green tomatoes, okra, pickles, etc :) I had a lot of it too - YUM! Now, I'd heard of fried Snickers & twinkies (which they had) but they also had FRIED OREOS & PEANUTBUTTER CUPS :) The fair was cool. They had a shark show and a sea lion show... but our favorite was the pig races :) haha!!! It was hilarious!! Aashini was close up to the race until the pigs came - then she crawled up into Adam's lap really fast :) (as seen below) :) Pig races! haha! Cracks me up!
