Funny Things :)

Well as you know, here in SouthAsiaLand, we always see funny things... things that really make us laugh! So today I'm going to share with you a few of thing things that have made us laugh in the last few weeks :)

This one speaks for itself:
This guy in the pic below was our rickshaw driver the other day... I liked his sporty jacket :) I think that was the first time I had ever seen the words "Hamster" and "Sporty" used together... hahaha I don't think any hamster I ever had was sporty... well, except for that whole wheel-running thing :)
Now this guy was creative! When Adam & I were riding our scooters around Phuket Thailand, we saw this guy going for a walk with his baby.... He had somehow attached wheels to this baby carrier thing and then tied a string to it... he was pulling her up and down these hills and over those cobble stones on the left - it was pretty funny! The baby was loving it!
This is a Mannequin that I saw in Thailand last week.... I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it... I thought it was hilarious! And last - but not least - back in SouthAsiaLand... the land of extremes :) - we were going down the road the other day and saw a stand selling Chandeliers on the side of the road! (and some sort of inflatable dog thing on the left)... it made me laugh!

I laughed out loud at the baby roller. I wish I could hire him to take Kiran out.

Man, you would never see a parent doing that with a baby in the states! (Meaning the rolling bouncy seat.) If someone tried, they'd get snatched up by Children and Families so fast... Looks like fun though :)

Cooking!

Cooking is sooo much harder here. THis is how you "puree" vegetables when you don't have a blender or food processor (or power). Some people have those things, but most people don't. This is my friend Gita. She's mashing up some onions. It's a marble slab that's not polished and they use a big rounded rock and just roll/mash! It's cool!!

Protesting

There's some political stuff going on in our city (and now the country) right now. People are peacefully fighting against corruption. It's been very interesting to follow. Tonight there was some protesting in our neighborhood. Here are some more protesting pictures. There will probably be more protesting to come... we'll see what happens!

We're BACK! (with Rats!)

We made it back! The flights were so long (especially our 6 hour layover right off the bat) but we made it!! We flew from Tallahassee to Memphis (where the long layover was) and then Memphis to Detroit (see picture below). It was snowing in Detroit! The only snow we saw all the time in the states was at the airpots! haha! We left Detroit about an hour late because they had to De-ice the plane! I'm from the south so I had no idea that they did that... and that it would take so long! haha! We were an hour late coming into Amsterdam (where it was snowing too!) and had to rush to our gate (it was a blur of wooden shoes!)... When we got in the plane we had to wait about 1.5 hours while they de-iced that plane! So we got into the Captial at about 2:00 am!! When we got home we were welcomed to a rat infestation in our bathroom!!! EWWWW!!!! Aparently, if the toilet isn't flushed for a couple months and dries out, then rats can crawl UP the TOILET!!! yes... nice... They wrecked our ba...
