Water?

OK, so this might be really boring to some of you, but I'm going to post it anyway :) I've had a lot of people ask me about how we get our drinking water, so I thought I'd post. Until a few days ago we had a water filter called an Aquaguard but then our water started to taste terrible! It's the city water that was/is bad, but there's nothing that kind of filter can do about it. Our filter was getting out the parasites, but that's about it. We live in the South part of the Capital where the water is extra hard and the filter we had doesn't really work well in our area of the city. I haven't liked our water in a long time either, so we decided we wanted a change.

We'd heard that the RO (Reverse Osmosis) Water Filters were good, but they are very expensive. A few days ago we found a lady in the city that was selling hers (that was only used for a few months) for really cheap, so we got one! Here it is below:
It's pretty big but it works great! Now our water (& food) doesn't taste like moldy dirt! It tastes good! It's the little things that make such a big difference :) yay for good water!!

I really like the cover that says "R.O." on it. Ours doesn't have one of those signs, I wonder if ours is legit? haha. Glad you got your water problem fixed.
very glad your food no longer tastes like 'moldy dirt!' that's not exactly a fave flavor! ;)

We bought a filter with an RO and ultaviolet. We paid a lot for it, but so worth it. The ultaviolet filter make the water taste like metal to us. We love ours too!!!

Really great filters. Glad you were able to get one.
Woohoo! Our city had clean drinking water and didnt taste bad at all. Who knows where we might end up next so its great to take mental notes here in case its moldy-dirt tasting!!

Cooking!

Cooking is sooo much harder here. THis is how you "puree" vegetables when you don't have a blender or food processor (or power). Some people have those things, but most people don't. This is my friend Gita. She's mashing up some onions. It's a marble slab that's not polished and they use a big rounded rock and just roll/mash! It's cool!!

Protesting

There's some political stuff going on in our city (and now the country) right now. People are peacefully fighting against corruption. It's been very interesting to follow. Tonight there was some protesting in our neighborhood. Here are some more protesting pictures. There will probably be more protesting to come... we'll see what happens!

Funny Things 2 - American Fair Edition

We just got back from Roadtrip #8 in Macon, GA. It was an awesome trip!! So, before we head out on the next trip, we went to the North Florida Fair! The fair is always famous for it's fried foods... they fried everything!!... They had fried/breaded zucchini, Mushrooms, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Onions, green tomatoes, okra, pickles, etc :) I had a lot of it too - YUM! Now, I'd heard of fried Snickers & twinkies (which they had) but they also had FRIED OREOS & PEANUTBUTTER CUPS :) The fair was cool. They had a shark show and a sea lion show... but our favorite was the pig races :) haha!!! It was hilarious!! Aashini was close up to the race until the pigs came - then she crawled up into Adam's lap really fast :) (as seen below) :) Pig races! haha! Cracks me up!
