Mehndi & Friends

My friend Emily that used to live here is here visiting right now :) The other night I went out with Emily & Kiley (who is here visiting too) to get Mehndi.
I am still always amazed at the artwork these guys do - amazing!
Here are Emily's hands :)
We've been having fun and have done some shopping too (for business and for pleasure) haha! Emily is helping us with our business and we are soooo thankful for her! We've had fun shopping and picking out things for it :) Very fun! yay!

I love the pretty designs they make with henna in your part of the world. Where I live we just dye our finger nails and some ladies turn their whole palms red. The shoes are cute... What short of business are you starting???

I love the designs they do there! It was interesting to see men doing the mehndi on the girls hands. Very different then where I live...Great pictures!!
I want pretty henna too! If you're not getting married, you usually don't get it in these parts. Shame! Gorgeous ladies...looks like yall are having a blast! Isaiah's meltdowns were a lot worse than Isaac's with jetlag too... it's just the age! Yay for gardens and ruins!

Cooking!

Cooking is sooo much harder here. THis is how you "puree" vegetables when you don't have a blender or food processor (or power). Some people have those things, but most people don't. This is my friend Gita. She's mashing up some onions. It's a marble slab that's not polished and they use a big rounded rock and just roll/mash! It's cool!!

Protesting

There's some political stuff going on in our city (and now the country) right now. People are peacefully fighting against corruption. It's been very interesting to follow. Tonight there was some protesting in our neighborhood. Here are some more protesting pictures. There will probably be more protesting to come... we'll see what happens!

Funny Things 2 - American Fair Edition

We just got back from Roadtrip #8 in Macon, GA. It was an awesome trip!! So, before we head out on the next trip, we went to the North Florida Fair! The fair is always famous for it's fried foods... they fried everything!!... They had fried/breaded zucchini, Mushrooms, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Onions, green tomatoes, okra, pickles, etc :) I had a lot of it too - YUM! Now, I'd heard of fried Snickers & twinkies (which they had) but they also had FRIED OREOS & PEANUTBUTTER CUPS :) The fair was cool. They had a shark show and a sea lion show... but our favorite was the pig races :) haha!!! It was hilarious!! Aashini was close up to the race until the pigs came - then she crawled up into Adam's lap really fast :) (as seen below) :) Pig races! haha! Cracks me up!
