Sbarro Pizza!!!!

I know this is not the most exciting blog post I've ever written :) but Sbarro Pizza just opened up here in the Capital and I"m really excited!!!!! I haven't been out of the house in about a week and a half - so until I'm out again (hopefully next week)... my blog posts won't be as exciting :)
BUT this is exciting for me!! I love Sbarro Pizza :) All of the ingredients to make this pizza are from America too, so it actually tastes like Sbarro Pizza (instead of a South Asian version of Sbarro) :) (not that I usually mind the South Asia version of foods, but when I'm nauseous all the time, it's nice to have some comforts from home :) Yeah! for Sbarro!!

Does anyone have the official pronunciation of this pizza place? That Veggie pizza was AMAZING! With Broccoli! Excellent!

Good looking pizza! Good to see a blog what ever it contains. Don't get in a hurry to get out, take care of Jellybean and enjoy your home delivery pizza.

I'm jealous! All our pizza here definitely tastes like a Euro knockoff. I've been praying for you with your pregnancy - we need a bedrest update before too long. BTW, love the blog - I check it often because it always makes me smile and often makes me laugh out loud. No one seems to enjoy what they do more than you guys. Since my peeps here can be a little gloomy it's quite a breath of fresh air. How about a photo showing just how hot it is there?

Well, that pizza certainly sounds yummy- and the broccoli, way to look out for jellybean way in advance- what a healthy selection!! Nice flip flop plate too!! Thank goodness some things never change :-) Well, actually they do- Rahul now prefers flip flops to any form of footwear!! FINALLY!!!!

haha! That's awesome :) Go Rahul! I'm so proud!
We actually only have 2 of those flip-flop plates... it's totally inappropriate here to serve food to people on plates with shoes on them :) haha! but we don't mind :)

Cooking!

Cooking is sooo much harder here. THis is how you "puree" vegetables when you don't have a blender or food processor (or power). Some people have those things, but most people don't. This is my friend Gita. She's mashing up some onions. It's a marble slab that's not polished and they use a big rounded rock and just roll/mash! It's cool!!

Protesting

There's some political stuff going on in our city (and now the country) right now. People are peacefully fighting against corruption. It's been very interesting to follow. Tonight there was some protesting in our neighborhood. Here are some more protesting pictures. There will probably be more protesting to come... we'll see what happens!

Jaya's Engagement!

My good friend Jaya (Mayank's sister that lives in M-town) - just got engaged!  On Sunday, I took the trip to M-town to go to her Engagement Ceremony (or Ring Ceremony).  It was a lot of fun :)!   First Stop - Beauty Parlor!  We walked a little ways down the street to a lady's house.  The beauty parlor was in one of the rooms in her house.  Jaya had already been to her house that morning to get her hair done, but now it was time for the makeup.  This beauty parlor was interesting because it only had 2 light bulbs in the whole room (and they were the energy saver kind that were dimmer than the regular ones), so it wasn't that bright inside the room.   Here's a pic of Jaya in the chair getting her makeup done.   Notice that her hair is crimped.  They use the crimper on people's hair when it's a special occasion - awesome!!! They put a  bindi  on her head and then the lady painted more and made it super fancy. Here's the finished product (after 1.5 hours)!  She...
