Ran & Football :)

OK, so it's Monsoon right now... although it's supposed to be over... We, and another couple in our city planned the day before to go to the coffee shop on the other side of town (ours burned down)... the cool thing about this coffee shop is that it has a field of grass behind it... now, you may not think that is super awesome, but when you live in "the plains"... and it's super dry most of the time... grass is a rare commodity. So we planned on bringing frisbees, a football and all sorts of other toys... this area also had some swings.. So needless to say, we were excited about going the next day...

Well, we woke up the next moring and it was POURING RAIN!!! We had been really looking forward to this... (and the other couple has a little girl that was really excited)...so we decided to go anyway to at least have some coffee...

So what do you do when it's raining and a little girl is really excited about playing on the playground?? You grab an umbrella :)

Well, Adam & Scott started to throw the football back and forth... there were some guys inside that were drinking coffee that were interested to know what the boys were doing outside in the rain... well, the 3 guys decided they wanted to check it out... so they rolled up their pant-legs and walked out in the rain... Well, before long, Adam had taught them how to play American football, and they had a big game going...
As you can see.. they had a BLAST!!
They were soaked!!! Because of the rain, it ended up being even more fun than it would have been... we had a BLAST!

Ends up, the guy in the white shirt below, was ranked top 10 in golf in asia... they were playing football with a celebrity :) Everyone had fun :) (Even the guy in the middle of the pic below with the torn shirt... he just wouldn't smile for the picture :))
It seemed fitting that we played on Saturday...the beginning of football season in America - what a great begining of football season :)

Playing in the rain is awesome! Good thing Adam could teach them American football. If it were up to me I would definitely "drop the ball"! Ha ha...

Cooking!

Cooking is sooo much harder here. THis is how you "puree" vegetables when you don't have a blender or food processor (or power). Some people have those things, but most people don't. This is my friend Gita. She's mashing up some onions. It's a marble slab that's not polished and they use a big rounded rock and just roll/mash! It's cool!!

Protesting

There's some political stuff going on in our city (and now the country) right now. People are peacefully fighting against corruption. It's been very interesting to follow. Tonight there was some protesting in our neighborhood. Here are some more protesting pictures. There will probably be more protesting to come... we'll see what happens!

Funny Things - Random :)

Here's a few random funny things ;) One thing that drives a lot of people crazy is honking! There are things that drive me crazy (like people urinating on the sidewalks - yuck!) but thankfully honking is not one of them because we hear it pretty much 24/7. We saw this poster the other day (below) and thought it was funny... BUT not as funny as the Hindi poster. The Hindi poster pretty much said that 'Honking is bad for your health' - haha ! Horns are actually a pretty necessary part of driving here. You don't really look behind you when you drive (most people either don't use their side mirrors, don't have side mirrors, or just have them folded in). When you drive, you just drive forward and you honk at the person in front of you to let them know that you're there - simple right? Sure, it's a little noisy, but you never have to look behind you :) If you go to that company's website it says: "Have patience at the traffic signals, let the signal t...
